Brief interruption to reading mail and using Webmail (resolved)

Around 11:26 AM (Pacific time) this morning, one of our mail servers encountered an unusual load, became unresponsive, and needed to be restarted. This affected our users’ ability to read e-mail and to use our Webmail system for several minutes.

No mail was lost, of course. Based on our analysis of the problem, we have modified the server configuration in a way that should avoid this issue in the future.

We take the reliability of our systems seriously and don’t consider this type of incident to be acceptable. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers.
