E-mail now supports reject and allow lists

We’ve enhanced our e-mail service with support for manual “reject” and “allow” lists.

The reject list lets you add individual e-mail addresses, entire domains or IP addresses from which incoming e-mail should always be rejected. The allow list lets you add senders from which e-mail should always be accepted.

To use this new feature, login to the control panel, choose “E-mail Options”, then scroll down to the “Reject and Allow Lists” link. This will take you to a page where you can change the lists for your account. The settings apply to all e-mail addresses under your domain name, including POP/IMAP mailboxes, forwarding addresses and Mailman mailing lists.

Note that the manual allow list is in addition to another feature, automatic acceptance of addresses you send mail to. You shouldn’t normally need to add anything to the manual allow list.

  1. If I blacklist someone, will they get a response that says the message was rejected or undeliverable?

  2. Yes, we never silently delete mail under any circumstances. Any rejected message is always returned to the sender as a “bounce” with an explanation of what happened.
